Jack Benoun began practicing law in the East Bay in 1969. His commitment to his clients and community has made him a pillar of the Newark-Fremont community. This passion for justice and upholding the rights of his clients sparked an interest in the law in his son David. While on summer breaks from UC Berkeley, David often volunteered his time to research cases for his father. Realizing that he too had a flair for the law, David pursued a law degree and later David opened up his sole practice alongside his father and mentor Jack.

Attorney Jack Benoun studied business at the University of California at Los Angeles, both during his undergraduate studies and while studying for his Masters in Business Administration (MBA). He also taught accounting at Chabot Community College as well as California State University, Hayward. He uses his business knowledge to provide highly skilled legal advice to business clients, including corporate formation, and writing Articles of Incorporation and bylaws

The Benouns' commitment to their clients is demonstrated by their commitment to the community. David J. Benoun serves as Secretary to the Newark Educational Foundation, a non-profit organization that promotes the study of music programs in Newark Unified School District. He also serves on a committee with S.A.V.E. - Shelter Against Violent Environments - as well as teaches occasional religious courses at St. Edward's Catholic Church in Newark and Temple Beth Torah in Fremont.

Jack Benoun is a long-time member of the Dawn Breakers Lions Club serving the community for over 35 years and holding the position of president for numerous terms. He also served as advisor of the Hispanic Community Affairs Council and on the Newark Chamber of Commerce as both President and Board Member. Mr. Benoun also spent 17 years as a Board Member to Second Chance.
